These answers are bizarre, a new hard drive has nothing to do with being stalked. If they have a virus/worm/trojan/piece of malware on your computer to trace you then either use an anti-virus to get rid of it or wipe your hard drive (don't get a new one just wipe it and start over) (but you should be able to get rid of it with a good antivirus such as AVG Free or Avast Antivirus). If they have nothing of the sort then they are probably using your IP address. Try unplugging your modem, let it sit for a minute, then plug it back in. This will give you a new IP address, effectively clearing any trace someone could possibly have on you. If this is e-stalker then get a new e-mail, new username and/or whatever they are stalking you through.

Note: If you do end up wiping your hard drive after refreshing your router failed to work and you know they have malware on your computer that you can't get off then be sure to have the router be off while the hard drive wipes so that you get a new IP and clear the malware simultaneously to prevent a trail/reinfection.

Not if you keep the same ID's that the stalker associates with you. The nature of what you are doing online determines how you can deal with the problem. Usually you can ignore or make yourself unavailable to that person within the online software. But once he knows your ID's he can create a new ID and look for you.

If the stalker is online. Then no. Because where-ever its at, (Ex. Myspace.) Then you have to delete it. But, when its a hacker then you HAVE to get a new drive.

No. Change all of your information, don't leave trails from your old information to the new. Also, try turning them in to whatever place they are stalking you through (If through Y!im, contact Yahoo, if through AIM, contact AOL, if through MySpace... and so on). Give your friends your information, and if they find you again, that means one of your friends is likely helping them.

most likely, unless this is a myspace thing or something-then you wil still be stalked. unless you can get a new myspace. it really depends on how they are stalking you. or you can get a new IP address.
