he came in the 8th inning with 2 outs and man on 1st and 2nd and the score was 6-5 yankees, he gets the 3rd out without the other team scoring. the yankees scored 4 more runs in top 9th and its 10-5. would he still get a save even though theyre up by 5?

yes
if he allows one run then it becomes a blown save
he then will be in line for the win

Yes, he should. The save situation is in effect, or not, completely depending on the game status when the pitcher first enters the game (takes the mound). Whatever happens later, as long as the lead is not relinquished (which would obliterate the save opportunity) and he finishes the game, does not affect that pitcher's save opportunity.

The classic example: 19-April-1996, Orioles at Rangers, Texas leading 10-7 after seven. Ed Vosberg came in to pitch with two outs, bases empty, in the top of the eighth with the three-run lead intact, so for him it was a save situation. He quickly got the third out.

Bottom of the eighth: Rangers exploded for 16 runs, including a grand slam by Kevin Elster off -- get this -- relief pitcher (and usually shortstop) Manny Alexander.

Vosberg came back out for the top of the ninth, gave up a single, a walk, got a GIDP, and finally a flyout to end it. Rangers win, 26-7, and yes, Vosberg got the S. He met all the conditions.
