In the final episode of "Lost," would Charlie really have drowned, or would he still have air?

Question

So, Charlie was stuck in the chamber, with the door closed. A water tight capsule. The grenade goes off outside and the port hole is blown. Water rushes in, but can all the air be displaced once the water reaches the level of the porthole? My guess is that Charlie really doesn't die. Answers, please....

Well, I think it was just bad writing, because we clearly saw the water going above the porthole and there are many other reasons why he "shouldnt" be dead, like a grenade breaking an underwater window, because they should be extra enforced of all the water pressure. but there is nothing we can do. The producers have confirmed his death. See things can go several ways, depends on the person and the influence level of that element in their sign. In relation to air, I think air is the one that can dry out the water. Air: Aquarius, Libra, Gemini are a little too fickle for water signs.

Charlie does die because Desmond did tell him he was going to since the season resumed this year and while he locked himself in the room, he let himself go. That was when he holds up his hand towards Desmond and thus he drowns.

I think he did. I mean, he would've died in the beginning if Desmond hadn't had his flashes. I think that he couldn't live forever, and that atleast now, he'll die knowing that he was a hero to the people of the island.

I can't wait till the next season starts!

Charlie is dead. He'll be back next season in flashbacks though that much i can promise. But otherwise he's a goner.

I think hes gone, however, in this kind of show, who really knows?
