This is a very small tank. Just a bit bigger than having a fish bowl. A friend gave it to me and i have it up and running with a filter, heater, etc. The temp ranges from 76 to 78 degrees. What kind of freshwater fish can I get to live in it? I know a beta would work. I know male betas need to live alone. But is there any other kind of fish that could live in such a tank?

Just to add to the other suggestions, you could have 2-3 male guppies, 4-5 rasbora hets. 4-5 glow light tetas, 4-5 male endlers live bearers, 6-8 Least killifish (actually a live bearer) or a pair of many different varieties of killifish.

generally i could say get a betta seeing as you have already got the tank, yet they do like very sluggish shifting water modern-day and could be under pressure. additionally you quite shouldn't feed your fish bread crums, Theres no nutritional fee to them and that they likely will pollute your water extraordinarily seeing as its in ordinary terms a 2 gallon. the ultimate advice i could desire to grant you is to get a betta fish that are colourful and are a exhilaration to visual demonstrate unit, yet i could recommend you alter your filter out possibly to a small sponge filter out which will cut back the water modern-day and save it chuffed and healthy. you in addition to mght could desire a fifteen to 20watt heater with a thermometer to regulate the temp because of the fact they do desire the water to be only above or precisely room temp, except the tank is a few the place heat the place the temp would not shift. additionally as they're labyrinth fish you do no longer desire an air pump because of the fact they could breath from the outdoors. desire it facilitates

You could have a betta with an aquatic dwarf frog or snail since the tank is filtered and heated.
Or..perhaps a few neon tetras. It's a very small living space though and you'll have to do frequent water changes and feed sparingly to keep ammonia levels down.

The only fish I would put in there is a betta...the small fish all need to be in schools to be happy. Maybe try ghost shrimp or cherry shrimp, you could make it a cool invert tank.

In that small space only a betta or a African dwarf frog would live.
