B. Migration to the New World increased dramatically.

The persecution were mainly of Royalists. Most of the migrants were prisoners-of-war, sent over as part of the system of indentured servitude: a slave until the debts were payed off. This was added to by some Presbyterian prisoners after Cromwell crushed Scottish opposition to his rule.

Ummm. d3m419s61 - it was the Puritans in power at the time of Cromwell. Their persecution only came in after the Restoration of the Monarchy.

Puritans were persecuted by the Church of England as well as the Quakers were persecuted and those in debt were persecuted
