Don't even think about putting the car or truck inside the the trailer area.
There are strick Federal guidelines for hauling vehicles and they cannot be put into an enclosed space, like a trailer, unless they have been drained, run dry, of gasoline and they have to be strapped or chained to the floor of the truck trailer.
I've seen a few idiots try to drive a vehicle up a set of car ramps and into a trailer and 99 times out of a hundred the ramps slip and they damage the car and ramps and truck and so on.
U-Haul rents those little two wheeled trailer things that you drive two wheels (the drive wheels) up onto and you hook the trailer to the back of the big truck.
You cannot load a car into a trailer that is not a car carrier hence the car carrier industry and those cars are out in fresh air and are chained to the carrier. There are too many safety reasons to get into but trust me, the cars move around inside and can dent or burst the side of the flimsy walls.
Good Luck!

Normally if you rent a car tow from the U-haul that connects to the truck, the lift is there for you and you simply drive up it.
If you are trying to get a car in the back of a U-haul TRUCK, make sure the car fits first, then use a makeshift wooden ramp. If this seems like too much trouble, pay someone to drive your car behind you.

Put a gas can in the front of the U-Haul and tell it to fetch.
You need to really rent a car trailer which comes with the ramps that are load-rated for hefting a vehicle.
Don't try to use a standard U-Haul for hauling a car around.

Build you self some good rugged ramps an drive it in. As ong as you pac stuff tight around it it not going to move that much.
I have moved several cars in u-hauls. I made anchor plates up and screwed them down to the floor several times then ratchet strap the car down.
