It depends on the size of the mower. Mine is a 2 gallon tank, and i have seen some that were 3 gallons.

Yes your average is around 1 gallon, most newer riding mowers will come with 1 or 2-gallon tanks.

right now you can put what you can afford buddy we are all feeling the pinch .i would suggest you put just what will mow your lawn and put the rest to your car to get to work so you can afford to put gas in your mower
