I am going to a sorority sisters wedding the middle of June. I have the cutest white dress that I want to wear. It is strapless, knee length and very form fitting. It has a black sash with a bow underneath the bust. Is it still a tradition that you cannot wear white to a wedding? I am going to dress it up with black shoes, big black earrings and maybe bring a black wrap. What do you think? It's a darling dress but I don't want to wear it if it will offend the bride. I need help! Thanks!

I suggest you get a different dress.

Here are all the 'rules' you're breaking:

1. Do not wear white.

2. Do not wear black.

3. Do not look sexier than the bride.

4. Do not look prettier than the bride.

5. Do not call more attention to yourself than the bride will get.

6. Do not go strapless to the church.

Well, why don't you just ask the bride if it offends her?
If you're not willing to do that, I suggest you be on the safe side. Get a cute pink dress instead. It's the biggest day of her life, better be safe than sorry. You wouldn't want anybody risking that at your wedding. Try some of these dresses instead

It is still unappropriate to wear a solid white dress to a wedding, think of it as trying to show up the bride, find another dress and save this one for another date.

Never wear white to someone's wedding. She might not be offend if she is your friend but people might talk about you.

I wouldn't wear white to someone elses wedding. If you really want to, just talk to her and make sure it wouldn't offend her. It is her day after all.

sounds a little trashy for a wedding, cover up more and wear baby's breathe in your hair.
