That is a rather spectacular leap.

The only thing I can think of is that the use by Dvorak of nationalistic themes was derived, in the widest possible sense, from the same nationalistic roots that precipitated the assassination of Franz Ferdinand.

Nationalism. Of course the music is not a causative agent in the assassination, but both the music and the conspiracy that led to the Arch-Duke's death were suffused with nationalism.
