i'm an american... i wonder if turning 30 in the good ol' usa has the same negative image as it does turning 30 somewhere else in the world.

Thirty is not old! It's the best! You're mature enough to avoid doing as many stupid things, you're physically young enough to enjoy life (and eat what you want)!. I have 2 young kids and I can keep up with them as well as any 20 year old! Anyone who tells you that 30 is old hasn't survived this world long enough to reach the mark. They will think otherwise if they are so fortunate. Enjoy it!

No 30 is not old. I went back to college at 30. I started a second life then with a new love and a new career. And that was a long time ago. And I have many years ahead of me now too. Old is when you stop growing in your mind. Some people are old at 25 and some never get old.

No. Not at all. 30 is very young, but then again I think it is relative. I mean if you ask a 13 year old if 30 is old, they will say ancient, but if you ask someone in their twenties or older than they will say no. Life is seasonal. There is a time for everything. There is a time for old age too, but you've got a long way before that, at least 'till 31, haha ; ) Enjoy life. Age is but a number anyhow.

you'll be 30 years young!

60 is old... undeniably... though, one can still look young for being old.

i'm 30, myself... i thought it'd be a huge deal, but it didn't even hit me until the next day... and i was okay with it!!

in today's society, 30 is no longer "old"... we are in the age of eye lifting serums and face firming lotions... (50 year old models who look 20 years younger, than they are). people are aging more slowly, so 30 is just 3rd gear.

back in the late 1800's, 30 was hard to come by... in the 50's, 50 was a goal. today, the average lifespan is 75 - 80 years old. you're not even halfway there. heck, most people are waiting to start a family, until after 40!

CONTINUE TO ENJOY YOUR YOUTH!!!
i am. (...and i'll be 31 in October.)
: )

No when you are at 30 you are too young to think of old age. As the saying goes, life begins at 40.

Nope. When you are young is seems old and turning 30 is sometimes a shock. But soon you find out you are still you at whatever age! I'm 45 and still think I'm young now!

uhhhh ... sheeee-ite! one foot in the grave

make sure you have a will made out and buy a cemetery plot.

"have you given any thought on how to cushion the blow and make sure your loved ones are provided for?"

"make peace with your maker, as your days are numbered ... will you be there when the gates are opened ?"

good grief, I'm 57 (going on 58) and it still feels like I don't know s**** about being a "grown-up"

from my point of view, a lot of people still feel like they're looking out of 17-year old eyes even tho the knees are crap and flexibility is ... well ... "diminished"

I look at old farts and wonder what it feels like ... and then look in the mirror and "geeeze, the lines are getting clearer" [dream on]

but to return to your question:

"no"

I don't think that 30 is old

I've had friends die younger than 30, one in VietNam, which still hurts me to think about.
I look at reports from Iraq ... I see 20 yearolds whose lives were taken

30 is not old

At 30 I think you should be established with what you want to do with your life but its not necessarily old..Just be lucky you made it to 30 many people in the world dont live to see that age.

I don't know about America;
But here in Australia, 30 year olds are still hitting the clubs and drinking on weekends.

In my opinion, 40 is the age which screams ''settle down''.

It all depends because I'm 30 and I guess Im odd. I look at other 30 year olds and they look 40 to me. My boyfriend is 29 and hes already got crows feet and he just looks way older than me.
