If the tank is longer than tall:
Bearded Dragon...You can house two in a 70 gal tank..easily.
As for feeding them meal worms, cickets are better, meal worms are very fattening and can couse intestinal damage...
Crickets are healthier for any reptile than meal worms...
Uromastyx...very cute, almost like Bearded Dragons, but need an experienced reptile handler...
Leopard Geckos, you can house 3 or 4 in a 70 gal tank...
They can survive pretty well on just meal worms..you can also add a comercial diet from the petstores...
Crested Geckos...you can house several in a 70 gal tank...also they like many fruits and veggies, as well as baby food...insects are a good addition to their diet..
Ball Python, Corn Snakes, King Snakes....you can house 2 of the same sex of any of these snakes together, but they all eat mice...Balls end up eating rats when they get bigger...
Frogs, you can house several frogs in a 70 gal tank, but you will have to do some work to keep it humid enough for them, some people LOVE frog terrariums....
Turltes, they are very dirty and need water but a 70 is plenty of space for one ro two....
Reptiles not to get...
Iguana...needs LOTS of room, they can get upto 3 feet long not including the tail....they eat a veggie diet, any meat will make them VERY agressive...
Water Dragon...they need a lot of vertical space because they are tree climbers...they also need an experienced handler to make a proper habitat for them...
Boas, Bermese Pythons, get huge need a very large set up...
Chameleon, they are rather hard to take care of and need more vertical room than horizontal, they spen almost no time on the ground, also they need to eat crickets...
As for the person who said rat: Rats make great pets but should NEVER be put in an aquiaruim, they need a wire and metal cage with levels for them to climb and play on...
Hope this helps...GOOD LUCK!!!

For the 70, you've got quite a few options. Pictus cats and a single red tail/rainbow shark would make for an interesting "shark" tank. Live driftwood and plants would be appreciated, but do leave some open space for the pictus to swim. Or, if you are comfortable with doing a brackish tank, you could do a columbian shark tank. These are one of my personal favorites. Make sure you give them more open swimming space if you go with these guys. Another option would be a single oscar. You could go with other cichlids if you prefer more than one fish though. A m/f pair of angels with a group of silver dollars and lots of live plants would look great. These are just a few ideas, i'm sure there are many more possible candidates for this tank. Just keep in mind that the fish listed here are not beginner fish, so you should have some experience and a well established tank before you try any of these guys. For the 25, guppies would be great. I personally would go with an all guppy tank, but you could do a few groups of some small, peaceful fish if you don't want to do that. Some good choices are neons, harlequins, embers, or glow lights. If you want bottom dwellers, cory cats or kuhlis would be great. Otos would also work, but make sure the tank is well established before trying these guys.

A bearded dragon would be happy in a 70 gallon, but DO NOT feed them mealworms. They can cause intestinal blockages in beardies. Beardies as babies really need crickets (the right size for the size of the beardie), and can eat superworms when it is 15 inches long. Iguanas grow up to 6 feet long and will eventually require a home made cage that is huge. Some Leopard Geckos could be kept in a large tank, and they eat mealworms. You'll have to provide enough hiding places, moist hiding places, and dry hiding places for each of them. You might check out www.reptilerooms.com for more info on a lot of different species. Just click on the forums link on the left, and look up care for the different reptiles.

Do not get an iguana if you are looking for something to fit in a 70 gallon tank. They will be small when you get one, but when it grows up it will be 5-6 feet long and will outgrow that tank within a few years if not sooner. They are also very high manintenence and require constant care. You can't even go out of town without getting a sitter for it because of the temperature, light, and feeding requirements.
Something that is smaller would be a good choice for an aquarium. You want your animal to be happy and have plenty of room to roam. Chamelions are awesome, but are also a lot of upkeep and are expensive.
Always make sure to do research on an animal before purchasing it to make sure you can handle the requirements for that animals care so when you get it, it will be happy and healthy. Don't just get something because it will fit in your tank.

Wow, any reptile would appreciate that cage! If it is tall, AT LEAST two to three feet tall, then crested geckos love a lot of space, and also don't need to eat crickets. They can't eat mealworms. That size you can also get something bigger, possibly even a water dragon. good luck!
