An H-pipe or X-pipe will improve low-end torque and horsepower by about 10-15hp by equalizing the exhaust pulses from side to side. Cold air intake will give you a small hp increase---cam, headers, carb and intake are the normal ways to boost HP other than going to nitrous.

I am a old hot rodder and built some mild and wild ones.. I assume you already have duals or you would not be asking about H pipe. In my opinion the H pipe really does not effect performance no matter what anyone says..If you already have a unobstructed well tuned exhaust then ask yourself why you need this?? I think its just one more component to break. I am a firm believer in keeping it simple.
Lets assume you have a healthy, well tuned, well maintained, engine with good intake and exhaust..
How can you pick up some horseys?? how about a chip mod? NO!! Do some research and find out if anyone in your area can burn in some new parameters, and take out old ones like rev, limiter, speed limiter, timing parameters, shift point parameters.
My opinion of aftermarket chips, proms, e.c.m.s, is that they are just some mass marketed piece of crap.
You can make a stock electronically controlled late motel motor run good and fast, getting all the horses its capable of producing by first keeping all systems, ign., fuel, etc. well maintained.. Then do some research and work with what you have and teach that existing puter to give you more power!!

No, not fast at all. 91's had Throttle Body Injection (TBI) 350's with "Swirl Port" heads- basically they suck for speed. That engine is set for low RPM power, by 4500 rpms that motor will have done all its going to do. I'd say it's a high 16 sec. 1/4 mile truck, maybe even a low 17 since it's a longbed. The good news is parts are cheap, if you wanna make it quicker go for a Edelbrock Performer RPM TBI manifold, some good heads (Dart, 300hp heads, nothing too expensive), a decent cam, headers, chip, and maybe a torque converter (2500-3000 stall)- should run good then.

you can add a good set of headers to it and help it some, also a good performance chip will help it also, but that engine unless its a high compression engine isn't going to produce a lot of horse power, the most your going to get from it will probably be around 245 horse power, and that's it,good luck with it,hope this helps.
