It is easier to see if at this stage if they go in vaginally. If the technician just did the ultra sound on your stomach then you probably would not see it.

Edited to say: I did not see the heartbeat when it was on my tummy but did when it was done the other way. I am six weeks and 4 days.

You have twice as much baby in there, so you have more
'kid' in the way!
Did the doctor listen for a heartbeat? It is still a little early.
Later ultrasounds may show the heartbeats better because the hearts are bigger too!

A regular ultrasound won't allow you to see much of anything at this time or hear the heartbeat. Kinda like a doppler won't find the heartbeat this early either. My ultrasound was vaginal, & according to my tech it was basically the only way to see the heartbeat at that early of a stage.

DId you have a regular ultrasound or a transvaginal. YOu should have seen it transvaginally but it might have been too soon for the regular kind. What did your doc say? That all was normal? I've had them at 6 weeks and not seen the h/b regularly so they switched to transvaginal. Call your doctor and tell him you want to see the heartbeat-it will give you great peace of mind.

I wouldn't worry. It takes some time for people to hear the heartbeat, but drs should hear/see it since they are trained for that. They may have seen it but just bypassed telling you. That happened to me once. It seemed like they were rushing through everything and then I didn't hear the heartbeat so I was sure something was wrong and started getting real upset, so they slowed down told me they heard it and redid it so I could also.

Hey,
Pehaps because you had it on your belly...
If you had it transvaginally, then you would have been able to see it because that way gives you the best view of your baby.
I had a transvagainal one at 7weeks3days and saw my sons heartbeating!

Talk about it with your doctor as im sure you'll be having an appointment very soon.

Good Luck and Congrats

no, your probably just earlier than the doctors thought...u will see the babies heartbeat at 7 weeks...I saw mine a few days before 7 weeks. You are probably only 6 weeks. how would they know you have twins already...that's awesome...congrats, I'm a twin...

your doctor would have told you if something was wrong. you will probably end up having ultrasounds every 3-4 weeks during your pregnancy (that is how they did my twin pregnancy) so you should get to see them again soon!!!!!

if you are really worried call your doctor he is the only one that can truly answer the question for you.

You should have seen heartbeats at 7 weeks or they should have atleast mentioned that they seen them. I think you should call your doctor and ask if they are concerned about the viability of your pregnancy.

Go back to your doctor. There should have been a heart beat. Plus, I liked your answer to that forth grader about the girl-friends thing. Boys that age should be thinking about school stuff and hobbies instead of girl-friends. Good luck with the pregnancy by the way!
