Are there any hospital jobs in the Tempe (or surrounding) areas, or will I be relegated to the nursing home and home health? I've already looked on the major job search engines, but I don't see much. We will be relocating there in September and I just want to get a head start on getting some leads. Thanks...

I don't know how i missed putting this in the original question, but I'm an LPN. I've got experience in a hospital, nursing home and in corrections.

There are TONS of hospitals in Phoenix and Tempe. I personally work for Maricopa Medical Center or "county hospital" which has the Arizona Burn Center (the only burn center in the southwest, and 2nd largest in the nation).

Check out the link below. It lists web site links to all the hospitals in Arizona and all the medical centers in Arizona. There are PLENTY of LPN jobs. Good luck and welcome to AZ!

Although I am not a doctor or nurse (but a Future Doctor :)) I can say I reccommend Banner Good Samartain Medical Senter in Phoenix. They have been featured on many health shows because of their high quality of care. They have been on Birth Day, and Trauma: Life in the ER.

If this hospital doesn't have any jobs, Scottsdale Osborn or Shea is also good. Good luck!

There are a number of hospitals that are near Tempe- the maricopa county hospital, St. Lukes and Phx Children's hospital-all are near 24th St and McDowell. St. Joe's and Barrows Neurological are at 3rd St and Thomas. J.C Lincoln is a bit farther away-more north, and there's some in Scottsdale but you have many to choose from. Try monster.com,and azcentral.com for ads.

this depends on what type of nursing you are talking about.

i answered your apt question too and i also work in a hospital.

there are several hospitals in the valley close to tempe. i work at Good Sam which is close to downtown phx (12th st and mcdowell) but since i work nite shift-traffic is not an issue for me (it takes me about 15 mins to get to work).

here are some of the hospitals close to tempe that i recommend (these are in safe areas-some valley hospitals are unsafe!!)

-banner desert samaritan (off of southern and dobson)
-Chandler Regional hospital (i worked there for 3 years good hospital but i wanted more icu access) they are off of Dobson and Frye
-Scottsdale Osborn (off of scottsdale rd and osborn). this is one of the top paying hospitals in the valley (i worked here for 2 years)
-St. Joseph's hospital (downtown phx off of 7th st and thomas)
-Banner Good Samaritan (this is where i work). one of the best hospitals in the valley-i've worked in several places and i love it here the best.

here are some links to help you out
