i say listen to some 80's rock like Van Halen,Gun's n Roses'Poison,and Queen.from there listen to music from nowadays,Fall Out Boy,My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds To Mars,Red JumpSuit Appartus,Avenged Sevenfold,etc. i think if you start out from the begninning(80's)that will show you what rock you will and will not like.

what kind of rock music? i know a lot of good alternative bands and I'm in a good mood because it feels like summer so I'll tell them all to you if you want. rock music is a giant tree with a jillion branches: heavy metal, folk rock, alternative, punk, boy band "punk" (good Charlotte, simple plan and all that bad stuff.), popular rock, glam rock, guitar rock, other kinds too. so... what kind?

like someone else said, try listening to the rock stations to find some bands/ songs you like.
