if you want your lawn to stay green and healthy mow tall,if you don't care if it dies then mow short

Always mow tall, it provides more protection for the root system, grass blades are important to root growth and proper health.

If you mow tall you are going to have to mow more often. If you mow short you will be able to go longer without mowing. I mow mine short, but still have to mow every week.

tall. this seems counterintuitive, but grass looses little water from its leaves, taller grass shades the soil, and less water is lost that way.
