i believe that what they did to both rosie and star were wrong. they knew those two would be volatile together so they hired rosie to get rid of star. and now they've used elizabeth's right wing christian conservative opinion and view to get rid of rosie. she was no more opinionated than anyone. rosie just speaks for those who have no voice. americans hate anyone who doesn't agree w/their ideology. i myself am both an american and a muslim and i experience this on a daily basis by having people comment on my choice of clothing and religion. they want everyone there to have the same view. and i think barbara walters is the real coward on that show. it was exactually joy behar who started the conversation a/b why bush should be impeached as facts for miss big mouthed elizabeth who said she listened and only believed in facts!!!!!!!!!!!. it was not rosie. joy had 2 pages of facts and still elizabeth has faith in the republicans. innocent iraqi lives should be less important than ours. terrorism is a word used to instill fear in everyone. elizabeth might at well say all muslims are terrorists and i can assure that we are not,but the mesia will show and tell you different. it's up to you to think for yourselves.

I think Tokyo Rosie had it coming to begin with. Yes, she caused a 15% increase in the show's ratings, but that was because everyone was tuning in to find out what she'll say on Hot Topics today. The View never made newspaper headlines in the commentary department before Rosie came along (her whining about Kelly Ripa, her Chinese comments, and her trashing Donald Trump all come to mind.) She was also throwing her sexuality around, letting everyone know about "her gay family" this and "gays have rights" that. At least Ellen has the decency to not bring it up in her monologues on HER show.
Bottom line, "The View" will pay for the decision in hiring Rosie when they are cancelled midway through the next season - if they're lucky enough.

According to Mike Evans, Rosie was demanding 10 million a year in a contract extension with the view. He also said that Rosie was offered a show on CBS for 20 million a season. Her show would include appearences on other CBS shows like their Morning Show plus some radio responsibilities.
I think somewhere along the way, the displeasure of ABC saying no to Rosie's demands translated to her dominating the view. It became Rosie's View. If someone disagreed with her she became louder and overpowering knowing that she had another deal on the backburner. She didn't respect the views anyone on the panel. Furthermore, her ego with Barbara Walters ego is much bigger than any studio can handle.
The fact is, it was never going to work. Rosie needs people to cater to her every need and she needs to be surronded by 'yes men.' People that get along and work with Rosie never disagree with Rosie. Problem was, Barbara needs the same type of people surrounding her. And all of Barbara's 'yes men' were already in place.
ABC and the View did nothing wrong. It was just an impossible situation to begin with.

Split screens are frequently used on TV on both talk shows and news broadcasts. That's just common knowledge. They did nothing to Rosie. She brought herself down by bringing a personal fight onto live TV. And Rosie started the day wanting to talk about Bush and the war as she was bantering about her conspiracy theories to the audience beforehand.

It was all a setup. Rosies wanted off the view and they wanted her gone so they set that little scene up and added the split screen. This way Rosie could leave and look like she was victumized and the show would get a boost. Just watch the video again it looks like Joy was setting the whole thing up.
Bt they way the Blonde has a name and it is Elizabeth.

I don't think that anyone on the view panel figured Rosie would be so opinionated. But then again, all they had to go on was her from her talk show and her stand up, and if you're a one woman show it's hard to guage. It was one too many mouthy girls, and it didn't help the show any.
Rosie had limited appeal, limited appeal = low ratings, low ratings = low $, they did what they had to do.

Rosie didn't even say much until Elisabeth got out of control due to Joy's prodding. Rosie's issue was Elisabeth's silent agreement when Rosie was accused by the "media" of calling the US soldiers terrorists.

I find it rather sad and pathetic that Rosie called Elisabeth a coward for not defending her. And yet, when the show was over, it was Rosie who was the coward in that I think she was too embarrassed and scared to come back. Now who's calling the kettle black, Rosie?!

Absolutely they were right. She's been nothing but a controversy since she came on the show, that's her nature, so she must have gone in to it knowing they would exploit any opportunity they were given - and she gave them plenty.
What I don't think is right is that she quit before her contract was up, like a child who doesn't get their way.
