Around 800 miles and it's about 12-14 hrs drive, depending on driver, spend and stops.

I drove to NYC from chicago two years ago....drove through indiana, pensylvannia (which has beautiful mountains) and new jersey...it's a nice roadtrip until you reach downtown manhattan that is!

I assume you mean NYC not say, Albany, New York....

If you are doing it by yourself you really should do it over two days stopping somewhere near Pittsburgh for the night. If you have two (or more) drivers you can do it in one day but you will be smelly and cranky and sore by the end of that long day :-)

It takes 16 hours and 53 minutes. I have driven it 5 times in the last two years. It will take longer if you only have one good driver, we stop to take naps, eat, and rests (19 1/2 hrs).
