We have a house with 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths. I want to make sure there are no more problems with the situation but I have no idea how or where to look to find out what size tank or if there are features I need to look for. I already know our area reguires a 250 ft field line but have no information on type or style, price range etc... of the tank itself.

Cant rightly answer that You will have to give a state ETC.

All states ,townships, are different. I live out in country and in my township you would have a sand mound but the next township 10 miles you can use a regular septic . I'd check with local plumbers or township ,municipal ,city . You may have permit it or may not all depends on your area.

There is no set system as the dirt composition is different every where
good luck LOST

I would think your health department would be the one to tell you. That is normally controlled by them or some sort of government office.
your excavator would know the answerer so ask them while you are gathering prices on cost for the installation of your new one.
Then once you know what size you need call around and get the prices of your tank. Your excavator may have someone who he or she uses already. In my area there are 3 that I know septic tank manufactures.
Once you get your tank lined up and your excavator then coordinate the 2 so the digger can have the hole dug when the tank company shows up with tank.
And don't forget in case they don't bring it up, you want to have a water truck there to fill it with water as soon as it is leveled and the dirt back filled. The reason you do this is if you happen to get a big rain it will actually try to float out and then you have a real problem re-setting it.
good luck

If this is a lark: have you checked the prices? do you need a larger tank or are you just making a query?
This is going to cost you roughly in the neighborhood of fifteen to twenty thousand dollars, like a second mortgage on the house. I'm not kidding.

Let your fingers do the walking in the yellow pages. Then call the County court house and check the licenses of the person, the bonds and the insurances. Make sure he's insured for everything including replacing all and everything in the yard he touches. You don't need a battle field reproduction of the "D" day invasion when he leaves.

from where are you?

here, we fabricate septic tanks at 4' wide x 8' long x 6' deep using concrete hollow blocks with sand and water outlet pipes.

there are leaching chambers that separate water from dung and lets the water out in the sewage.

so a house with 2 baths would be well served b y this kind of septic as the water just goues out from the system.

you just have to have a proper leveling

good luck
