Many livejournal users have had their accounts deleted. Paid accounts because of on radical "activist" who is reporting users with certain words listed as their interests. People have paid for a service "months of service" and had their work deleted. Can anything be done?

You need a cause of action, which it looks like you have, and you need to have a sufficient number of people affected by the same thing in the same way that it would be inefficient to have them all sue separately. You can't have so many possible class members that it would be impossible to resolve the liability issues for all of them or give them all notice and an opportunity to opt out of any settlement.

I would say you have an excellent class action, but it might not pay enough for a lawyer to want to take it. Or for some rich client to spend money on getting it going.

Read their terms of service. EG.You can own a gun (provided you dont kill anyone) or You can use our live journal service...as long as your not an extremist. Dont go after the suit, waste of money. If you do pursue it get a consultation which is free for the first 30mins on some decent lawyers, ask before making them talk.

You would have to file suit against the company.
You would be the lead plaintiff.
The case would then have to be approved by a judge for class action status.

Contact a lawyer for the specifics.
