They are both really good bands...But I prefer Evanescence over Lacuna Coil. I listen to both bands though, I saw Evanescence in Hartford CT and they put on an excellent show...Haven't seen Lacuna Coil yet.....

A three-way battle royale for female goth supremacy, what fun. Let's make this a little easier. Evanescence doesn't belong in the conversation. Talk to me when their music equals their image. I made mention a while back that there aren't any female emo singers, but Amy Lee is dangerously close. Like anyone wants to hear her whining about her loser ex-boyfriend from Seether. I don't care how "hot" she is or might be, it's not important on any level. So that leaves LC and WT. Both of these bands are very close on so many levels. I have to give it to Lacuna Coil. They are slightly better and I give them credit for breaking through without sacrificing their artistic integrity, like Evanescence. Again, the looks part is kind of mindless drivel, but I'll play along. Cristina Scabbia is better looking than Sharon den Adel, who has a face that looks a little more severe, although not ugly by any means. Both have good voices. Both LC and WT should be getting a lot more attention. Modern radio can have ten bands at any one time that sound like Nickelback or Hinder but no way we can have more than one gothic female fronted band at a time. That would cause a disaster.

I definitely prefer Lacuna Coil. I love Evanescence, but I think that Cristina has more variety in her voice. Do NOT get me wrong, Amy Lee's voice is outstanding and stronger than most singers out there today, but I think that after a while it sounds the same on a some of the songs. But I love both bands and how they use beautiful orchestra and strings in their music, they're both amazing.

Lacuna Coil is much better in my opinion. I can't stand Evanescence. Amy Lee is over rated.
