I usually bark back... Once I have beaten off 7 dogs with one bark, and got some of the residents wake up since it was 3 am... what about you??

Most of the time I just go over to pet them. Depending on the vibes I get. I attend doggy obedience/agility trials, and dogs bark; a lot. At these trials I know most of the owners though, and I know the dogs, and I know they aren't dangerous. So petting them is okay for me. And if they bite me..they bite me. At least I'm sure the dogs aren't sick...as they have to hand in recent vet/medical records before being let in the show.
If I'm on the street, and a dog is barking at me...I throw a small stick at them................and bark. =) And they stare back, looking like; Uhm...human? Barking? What do I do now? And they sit down with their head ****** looking all confused.

I tend to bark back and try to make some friendly conversation (if you think I'm kidding, you're wrong, I'm that strange) or I just ignore them cuz unless they're rabbid or something they're not gonna hurt me
