It is roughly 3000 miles.
Depending on how far you want to drive in one day.
With stops for meals you end up going about 60 miles per hour.
We usually start around 7am and stop around 7pm.
Roughly about 4 or 5 days with stops.

Since you didn't specify where in Florida you would start and where in California you would end, I have picked the Western most Florida town and the Eastern most California town.

Distance: less than 1,850 miles. Travel time:3 days, driving no faster than the speed limit and traveling 8 hours a day. Total driving hours: 28. Remember the speed limit in some areas of Texas is 80MPH.

Your trip will be I-10 to I-12, around New Orleans, returning to I-10 at Baton Rouge. Take 1604 around San Antonio. When 1604 rejoins I-10, you will be on I-10 to California.

Now if you wish to start in Key West, Southern most point in Florida, to San Francisco, your trip will be much longer.

Now you are up to: 3275 miles and 6 days travel time. Total hours: 49.

Have a safe trip

I have a friend who drove from Pomona, California to Tampa, Florida, in a Blue Bird motorhome in 2-1/2 days. This motorhome is 45 feet, with a 525 HP diesel engine and cruises well at 85MPH. With it's 200 gallon fuel tank, only one fuel stop was required.

Let's see - I drove 570 miles from Greenville, SC to Baltimore, MD in 9+ hours but I became tired and my dad drove the last 2 hours.

I've driven from Hilton Head, SC back to DC in a day by taking the scenic route - which was about 670 miles plus another 60 for me to drive home - for a total of 730 miles.

I guess if I could drive 15 hours and rest for 9 and average 75 MPH - I could make it in under 3 days or 72 hours.

five long days. If you figure roughly 3000 miles, you can decide how far you want to drive per day. You could google maps and ask for directions from where you are to where you want to go and it will tell you everything you want to know.

30 to 40 hours of actual drive time, depending where in calif to where in florida, and the speed you go. back when i was younger, and gas was a quarter, we would drive straight through, switching drivers when we stopped for gas and restroom breaks. that was san diego to tampa.
