If it came from a P2P site like Limewire you need to delete it from that site. It happened to me in Limewire. Go into Limewire (or whatever the site is), into the library and delete it from there. Once you do it will disappear off your hard drive.

Try in safe mode.
Tap F8 when booting your computer.

Scan with you antivirus program.
Scan with some spyware/adware removers like Ad Aware SE Personal and Spybot-S&D.
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
( Download Ad Aware here http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html )

if you don't have a antivirus program; Get it.
AVG and Avast has some free ones.
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-virus-cleaner.html
There are more free antivirus programs out there.
What’s the best of them I don’t know.
I use Norton Internet Security.

You also need a firewall if you don't have it.
ZoneAlarm has a free one.
http://www.zonealarm.com/store/content/catalog/products/sku_list_za.jsp;jsessionid=GcFIn2wsmBu1XxQceQKRSqGfL9zm7PLpR2R4z9G1Ux8kAskyuuMG!-618052328!-1062696904!7551!7552!NONE?dc=34std&ctry=&lang=nb&lid=trial_zaFamily
Disable Windows firewall if it’s not disabled automatically.
That is if you download another firewall.

You can also try scanning with a antivirus online scanner like http://www.bitdefender.com/
and a security/antivirus scanner like http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/home.asp?langid=ie&venid=sym&plfid=23&pkj=QVLBZTVOGXFSTZHSZPW&bhcp=1

The file is probably infected with a virus. Run a virus scan on the file.

If its clean you can use these two tools to delete or unlock it.

There may be a virus, or a bad harddisk area in the worst case.
But do not worry.
Shutdown your computer.
Now open it
Try to delete it.
It must be able to delete.
If not, change its name, try again

Either right click and rename it then reboot and see if you can delete it.
Either that or boot in safe mode and just delete it tehn reboot as normal.

cheers
