im christian...in the sense that i believe jesus is messiah yatta yatta...but i disagree with a lot in the bible. so i can understand the logic behind an athiests beliefs (i have several athiest friends).....
anyway its so annoying when religious people try to force their beliefs on you. ive only met a few that have but it was so annoying. i remember i was waiting for my bf to pick me up..so i waited and i have a habi of randomly talking to strangers..this lady started asking me "are you saved"..i hate that term "saved"..well you can guess where it went from there. i was thinking wow if i were muslim or buddhist or hindu - id be so offended right now. she went on saying how "our" god is the only real god. im thinking lady how the ***** do you know?
she couldnt just have said "christian" it had to be "saved" as if the rest of the world is doomed. ppl like this are ignorant.

Lots are so self-rightous because they believe that because they 'follow' the Lord's way, that it means they are better than most people - esp. those that do not follow the Lord's way... or at least, what they believe the Lord's way to be. They take the word of God and twist it to match their own personal bigotries (?) and then use that to lord it over others who do not see things their way.
And I am totally in agreement with you that people who just start asking random strangers if they are saved really need to pull their heads out of their asses. Not every one believes the same way and they shouldn't just assume. It is so infuriating when they do try to force their beliefs down your throat - I've always said so.

Being saved is kind of a power trip, and the sermons are something of a pep talk. But, they fool themselves that they are any different than they were before.
Some of the weirdest things I did that resulted in harming others, I did when I was a churchgoer. That's one reason I finally quit. Try Buddhism

Honestly, those people aren't in it for the religion. They're using God as a tool to make themselves feel superoir, like they're better then you. It makes them feel powerful, and gives them a reason to condecsend to you. Ignore them.
