In my opinion, idealism seems to present itself to progress.
It seems to me that realism might be tempted to simply
reiterate that which is obviously real. I can observe many
things which are real, but why would I want to stop there.
In other words, I can observe things to be real and
use idealism to consider possible realities which
can be constructed from reality. Consider an analogy,
I see a city of gold off in the distance, but a chasm
separates my current being from moving towards
the golden city. Rather than give up on the pursuit,
I might prefer to build a bridge to cross the chasm.

Realist. I play the hand I was dealt and don't wallow in what could have been or what should be.

And I spell out all of my words including YOU, as a sign of respect.
