Phish has a song called "The Horse". It's on their 1993 release Rift and leads into the album's last song "Silent in the Morning".
Don't know if that's the one you're talking about. I don't consider Phish to be classic rock but who knows.
Also America's "Horse with No Name".

Its an instrumental, and its Cliff Nobles & Co. I have the record. Love that song, about 1968, if I remember correctly. No to the person who said it was Booker T, its NOT!

The only
"The horse" song I know of is by Phish
"It's time I sling the baskets off this overburdened horse
Sink my toes into the ground and set a different course
Cause if I were here and you were there
I'd meet you in between
And not until my dying day, confess what I have seen. "
Is that it?
Or maybe it the Iggy Pop song.
you know
"I feel
I feel.
I feel
like a horse"
Yeah, I don't know.
