1)
The first step is to find common demoninators for your two fractions. One simple way to do this is to multiply the two denominators together, 5x9=45. Remember that you have to multiply both the top and bottom of a fraction by the same number, so we get:

2/5 x 9/9 = 18/45 and 1/9 x 5/5 =5/45

Then add the two fractions together to find how much pizza was eaten:

18/45 + 5/45 = 23/45

Then subtract from the whole:

45/45-23/45 = 22/45 of the pizza is left.

2)
Always multiply or divide before you add or subtract.

-2+2(7-3squared)+(-10)(-3)

And remember that a negative times a negative is a positive:

-2 +2(7-9)+30
-2+2(-2)+30
-2+-4+30
-6+30
=24

1)first you need to convert the fraction to the same denomination you do that by multiplying the fraction by the other fractions denomonator.
2/5 * 9 =18/45
1/9 * 5= 5/45
now add the fractions
18/45 + 5/45=23/45
A whole pizza would be 45/45 so if you subtract how much was eaten you get your answer
45/45 - 23/45= 22/45
so there is 22/45ths of a pizza left. Just under half.
It would be normal to reduce this to is simplest form but there is nothing to reduce here.
If the final answer was somethin like 25/45 you could divide the top and bottom by 5 to get 5/9 but that is not the case here.

2) solve inside the brackets first, then mulitply then add
-2+2(7-3^2) + (-10)(-3)
-2+2(7-9) + (-10)(-3)
-2+2(-2) + (-10)(-3)
negative times negative makes positive, positive time positive makes positive, positve times negative is negative
-2+(-4) +(+30) remove brackets and add. Pay attention to the signs of the numbers. especially the negative two and negative four. adding a negative number is subtraction.
-2 -4 + 30 = 30 - 2 - 4 = 24

I think I can work #1
Bob ate 2/5 so that leave 3/5 of the pizza.
so 3/5 X 1/9 has to be simplified so 5x9=45 and so there are 27/45 of pizza and sue ate 9/45 this be about 18/45 left for me. so 18/45 is simplified to 2/5 so evidently sue really did not eat any pizza.
Dang that was a tough one, I hope someone else get #2.

1. 1-2/5-1/9
Youre taking it away from 1 since 1 would be the whole pizza
Make all the fractions to be over 45
45/45-18/45-5/45
Now subtract the top, keep 45 on the bottom
22/45 of the pizza is left

2. Order of operations
Parenthesis
Exponents
Multiply/Divide--whichever comes first
Add/Subtact--whichever comes first
-2+2(7 - 3 squared )+ (-10)(-3)
-2+2(7 - 3^2 )+ (-10)(-3)
-2+2(-2)+(-10)(-3)
-2-4+30
24
