Nothing better than an Aircooled BMW! No mather which type, they're all delicious to ride on. Some are quit "speedy" like the R90S, some are a bit slower like your R65. Mucho miles without any troubles and easy to work on.

Purchased my first BMW for $1000 in Hawaii. It was covered in rust, forget the year but probably like a 75 R75.
I stayed up cleaning the chrome the first night and the next morning it was beautiful. Ran great, but in that heavy Hawaiian rain I was always losing one cylinder so I would put my hand over the plug to get it going and then I would lose the other.
That got me stuck on BMW's and Ive had two more since. Right now a GS1000, the best so far, but I wish it had a kick start.

Favorite I liked, or favorite I owned? Makes a small difference. Owned: 1979 Suzuki GS425L. Only year for that model. Last one I had with a kickstart. Sure miss that! Rode it for years. Great rides, good stories, Harley jokes (what are you doin'? It's not.........) Compression got so low I used to change fouled plugs at 40 mph. One at a time of course.
