as HP has a webcam, remote control, and microphone in the laptop but those is not in the dell both laptops have 120 gb hdd, 128 video card, 1GB ram, wifi, windows vista home.

dell / hp same difference - the processor is important higher frequency and more cache translate to better performance.
so do more RAM and also the OS they both have.
you should also find out which company has lesser number of repairs in the first year of purchase. (if i knew :) i'd tell ya) that's a safer bet. I would prefer HP though...all the extras...how critical is speed to u

For me, i say the HP laptop, it came with a remote, earphones, microphone, and a very stylish finish , btw webcam has a good quality , I own one and its way faster, its sensitive volume is great, and with my other compaq presario laptop , hp avilions cousin, i dropped it but i called hp, and i didnt have to pay a single cent to get it repaired, of course if it is under warranty . The process is very easy and they ship it back to you fast.

Definately take the HP. I have an HP at home and DELL at work and my HP is soooo much better for everything. Also, my boyfriend who is a computer nut says the same thing.
