How is the weather conditions in Fort Worth-Arlington-Dallas area for the whole year?

I wanted to know what are the typical conditions that happen in these areas because I'm considering moving out to Texas. I've heard that Tornados occurs in those areas, I was wondering if you could give me an estimate of how often they happen in a year. Also if there are other conditions we need to look out for in that area.

Its actually funny that you would ask this question. This area has some of the most varied weather in the nation. A common joke is that " If you don't like the weather, Wait 10 minutes." From extreme heat in the summer to Ice and snow storms in the winter. Large electrical storms pass frequently. On the local weather channel they show Lightning screens that show the progress of electrical storms with little X's moving across the screen that show where each strike was located. As far as tornado's, while the area does get hit occasionally it has fewer that the central area of the country and your odds of being effected by a tornado are slim. The one thing that bothers me the most is Ice on the roadways, especially on bridges. This can be real dangerous. So... If that sounds crazy, so is the weather in Texas!!!
