The 24 hour thing is if the person is an adult. If it is a child than there is no time limit. By the way, running away is very dangerous. If you are the one who wants to run away, please talk to someone who may be able to help you. Please do not place yourself in that kind of danger. The streets are hard and really horrible things happen out there.

normally it is 24 to 48 hours that the police will take the report. But if you or someone is thinking of running away don't do it! If things are that bad at home then tell someone you trust so that you can get some help.

Running away is very dangerous and people love to take advantage and hurt kids that run away. There is forced prostitution, rapes, beatings, and even killings. It gets very cold, and you get very hungry quickly. You don't have a place to always take a shower, and wash your clothes. The streets are a bad place for kids to be. Like i said if you or someone you know is going to run away then call social services, talk with the parents, a teacher, someone so that help can happen!

24 hours is the legal time to file a missing perons report. Unless they admit to running away to a parent, friend or in a letter then immediate acion can take place. A lot of privacy will be lost trying to look for the person that ran away though.

I tryed running away when i was 13 it wasn't a smart move all I did was made a big deal of nothing i had the police there trying to help and i had my mum and dad coming after me the police will try and come looking for you and the lkely hood of it all is that they will find you . If you are really serious about doing this you need to think it through before you do it think what you are leaving behind and what you will be missing and what will happen to the people you love and who care for you what will they think ? so before you do any thing think about what you are doing first

If a minor runs away from home, a parent has to call the police to report a missing person or a runaway. The police will find you and bring you home. If they see major problems in home, department of children and families may be notified. If the runaway is a problem, he/she can be put in juvenile detention center.

It depends on the situation. If they think the minor was abducted or in danger, Immediately. Also if the minor is brought home and continues to run away they may be put in placement. Sort of Kiddie Jail.

It depends on the age of the person. Call the police to find out the time limits.

For an adult, it is usually 48 hours (Phoenix AZ USA).

I ran away from home, and about 3 hours later, the cops went searching for me at my friends house.

24 hours and on the street that is a long time. Then what if they don't and you have no were to go? First you get hungry then scared. If it is that bad at home go to DHS and they will find you a foster home. You don't have to stay home but do it right. Go to your school teacher.

Usually it's 24 hours. But in the state of California there are no laws against children running away. I know because they wouldn't do anything about my step-sister
