Maybe your muffler is getting louder after 11 years of service and you only hear it when your stopped in traffic. If you accelerate really hard, you might hear it make the hot-rodder's muffler noise then too. If that's what it is, many hot rodder's would love to have your worn out muffler. It won't get to be a problem until the exhaust rusts out enough to have larger holes in it, and then keep your windows open when your stopped with the engine running for any reason.
