My dad has been to the army. He said the officers and captains make you work hard there.
Everyday, you run AT LEAST 2 miles and lots and lots of training. However, you rarely have to fill out paperwork. There may be some bullies there threatining you to do something for them. You skydive and get the chance to fire a gun.
You do more then just saying,"Sir yes sir!" to the officers. They yell at you and scream when you make a mistake. They're made of hard, stern stuff.
You get to represent the country. Good luck if you want to join!
p.s. My dad went to the army in Taiwan.

I said the very same words to my dad...we fought for so long about it...he hates the army...he believes it's just a easy way to get killed...but I don't think that it's just a one way ticket to death...it can be good and very nice to put on your job applications...that's if you don't make it into a career...but i suggest going to college first...that will help you have more credibility when you are looking forward to a higher rank in the army...that's my plan anyways.

I have several friends and 3 siblings that have been in the army.
It's hard, but overall they mostly really enjoyed the experience and the army was a great help to them with affording an education.
My sister is the only one that didn't like it and that's because she broke her ankle in Basic Training and was discharged.

It is a great experience, and it will make you feel proud. Go for it. My son was in the forces and he just loved it. There is a whole world out there to explore and what better way then being in the forces. Have a good day and good luck.

There are times when you should join the army (e.g. World War II) but now is NOT one of them. You'll likely be sent to Iraq, and many soldiers don't even have armor.

if you want to join the army, then you should wait until Bush is out of the picture. if you join the army, then the president, whoever that may be, will be your boss.
