Ghosts & Spirits are one and the same, they are both essentially made of the same thing, energy.
However, a ghost is normally depicted as something that haunts people or places and therefore gives off a feeling of fear. The dictionary defines a ghost as "The Spirit or semblance of a dead person, believed to visit or haunt living people". Not very pleasant sounding, we know, but don't you remember as a child you would have been afraid of ghosts because it was always 'ghost stories' you heard, never 'spirit stories'

IMVHO
A ghost is the residual energy left in a material location by a departed spirit while a spirit is the essence of your being that has already moved on. You could see ghosts ( I have) but contacting spirits is doubtful unless they have some unfinished business they still care about if that's possible. Assuming a spirit needed to tell you something (VERY BIG ASSUMPTION) they would invade your dreams or attract your attention by subtle changes in temperature or pressure if you are near what they want you to see or do.
I'm pretty sure Spirits have passed on to something else and no longer have any interest in their past except as a lesson learned.

Supposedly a ghost is an entity of a person who lived on this earth and died. A spirit was never a person but has always been in spirit form.

a ghost is a spirit of the departed a spirit is with the living which is human spirit ,angel spirit,or beast spirit they have difference classes of spirit.

ghost is a dis-embodied person energy that has not passed on. While a spirit is a supernatural entity that could be an angel or a fallen angel that is under the orders of Satan.. For an example a demon is a fallen angel that is use to cause difficulties for human. Also a demon can possesses the dead or a live person or come in the disguised of a dead person... Also when a person tries to talk to the dead it is really a demon that they are in contact with.......................................
