Isn't it his "seed" that predicts if the embryo is going to be a boy or girl and has nothing to do with the egg? Is it the "speed" or is it the "amount" of the guy's sperm?

Nah. I learned this in Biology. I think it's the amount of sperm and the speed that determines if it's going to be a boy or girl. If the guy "shoots" a lot - chances are he's going to have a boy.

Oh, so it's not the amount? Hmmmm....

How does the sperm dictate the gender then? If a male has low testosterone, wouldn't he attribute to a female?

Okay, I thought it was speed. Male with low fertitlity and weak sperm will have females. I knew this. Just making sure.

The sperm is what determines the sex of the baby, it has nothing to do with the egg. The egg carries an X, and that's it. The sperm can have a Y or X.

There's a theory that the girl sperm survives longer than the boy sperm. Apparently if you want a girl, you should only have sex 3-5 days before ovulation because the boy sperm will die off and the girl sperm will be there when the egg arrives. And if you want a boy, you should have sex the day before and the day of ovulation. Remember, this is only a theory!

Both egg and sperm have two sets of chromosomes. All eggs are inheriantly female. The X chomrosome. Eggs have XX. Sperm can carry either X or Y chromosome. Sperm can be XX or XY.

So if a sperm that carries XX fertilizes an egg, you will have a girl. If the sperm carries XY, you will have a boy.

So when King Henry the 8th beheaded all of his wives for not bearing him sons...he was wrong. It was HIS fault not theirs. lol.

it doesnt matter the strength of his seed, depends on what chromosone is in the sperm that happens to be the one who fertilizes the sperm. the females egg is an X chromosone. if the male fertilizes it with an X, results in a female. if its a Y, results in a boy. doesnt make a difference the speed, the amount or whether hes got low fertility rates

The sperm is what dictates the gender of the fetus.

And since only 1 sperm fertilizes the egg, the "amount" has nothing to do with it.

Yes, men have both x and y chromosomes and women have 2 x chromosomes. Has nothing to do with amount of sperm or speed they can swim. Just depends on which chromosome the "winner of the race" has.
XX-female
XY-male

Yes, it's the sperm that determines the sex of the baby. Male carriers swim faster but the females stay alive longer. It's basically who gets to the egg faster and who's still around to get to the egg.

Some sperm carry the X-chromosome and some sperm carry the Y-chromosome. If an X-chromosome-carrying sperm fertilizes the egg, the baby will be a girl. If a Y-chromosome-carrying sperm fertilizes the egg, the baby will be a boy.

The Y-chromosome-carrying sperm are said to:

be faster and smaller than the X-chromosome carrying sperm.
die faster than the X-chromosome-carrying sperm.

The X-chromosome-carrying sperm are said to:

be slower than the Y-chromosome carrying sperm.
be better able to withstand the acidic cervical environment before fertile cervical fluid is produced.

To Get A Boy (According to Shettles):

Time intercourse as close to ovulation as possible: The idea is that since the Y-chromosome sperm are faster than the X-chromosome sperm, there will be more Y-chromosome sperm who reach the egg, making it more likely that a Y-chromosome carrying sperm will fertilize the egg.
Abstain from intercourse for four to five days prior to ovulation. Have intercourse only just at the time of ovulation and just before.
Have intercourse that allows for deep penetration. Shettles recommends rear-entry (aka, “doggy-style”). The idea is that the sperm will be deposited closer to the cervix where cervical fluid is most friendly to the Y-chromosome sperm and where the “boy sperm” are more likely to survive since there is less distance to travel.
Men avoid tight clothes: heat kills off both types of sperm, but will kill off the less protected, smaller Y-chromosome sperm faster, according to Shettles.
Women have an orgasm: According to Shettles, female orgasm increases the alkaline secretions in the vagina that are favorable to the Y-chromosome carrying sperm. Shettles recommends having an orgasm before or at the same time as the male partner.

To Get a Girl (According to Shettles):

Have intercourse 2-3 days before ovulation and avoid intercourse just before ovulation until 2 days after ovulation and when you have peak cervical fluid: The idea is that when you have sex a few days before ovulation, only the X-chromosome “girl sperm” will be left in the female reproductive tract waiting to fertilize the egg when it is released.
Have intercourse with shallow penetration: Shettles recommends “missionary position”or any position that will deposit the sperm slightly away from the cervix, giving advantage to the longer living, but slower X-chromosome-carrying sperm.
Women avoid orgasm: Shettles suggests women avoid orgasm because it makes the vaginal environment more alkaline, and less acidic and is disadvantageous to the X-chromosome “girl sperm”.

It doesn't predict it, it causes it.

Females have two X chromosomes and therefore only have X chromosomes to pass on. Men have an X and a Y chromosome and therefore can pass on either X or Y.

Some people believe one of the other sperm has a longer life, swims faster, etc, etc but it is far from proven generally.

Yes, it is the males sperm that will determine the sex of the baby. Some sperm carry the "Y" chromosome for males and some carry the "X" chromosome for females. As to whether its "strength" versus "quantity" I can't tell you.
