At my 7 weeks sonogram I heard the heartbeat, and saw the head and arm and leg buds. I had the one where it's on your belly, but they do have the one where they put something inside of you. It's the doctor's choice really.

At 13 weeks its very hard to find the babys heartbeat with a doppler becasue the baby is so small, and it may have been in a position where it was undetectable. I didn't hear my babys heartbeat witht he doppler until 16 weeks, and I didn't hear it on the either scan (12 or 20 weeks) but you could see it was beating, but there was no volume on the scanner!!!! Try not to worry, she will probably find it next week.

If you get the u/s, yes you can hear the heartbeat and you will see your baby. When they do the u/s the rub a gel over your belly and rub the u/s over it. When I was pregnant they never stuck anything in me for the u/s or listening to the heartbeat.

At my docs, you don't get to hear the heartbeat until at least 12 wks & you don't get an ultrasound until at least 20 wks. They squirt some warm lube-type jelly stuff on your belly & move a rounded stick thing around on it for the heart beat & ultrasound, it's just hooked up to a different type of machinery.

Yes you can see the baby but as far as the heart beat some times you cant hear until you are 12 weeks. Because you are so early in your pregnancy they will do a vaginal u/s. Good luck, hope all goes well for you.

It really depends on your doctor. They will prob most likely do an ultrasound...whether its throu vaginally or on your tummy is up to your doctor. My doctor did it on my belly and i got to hear the hearbeat through that way. Good luck!

Since your still early they may stick it in you.You should be able to see it and hear its heart beat or at least see its heart beating on the screen.

When you have an ultrasound you will not be able to hear the baby's heart-beat. They use a stethoscope for that.
They don't put it in you. They just gently rub it around the outside of your belly.
Doesn't seem like you've ever had a baby before.
