You need to change the power saver settings. Sounds like your lap top is going into sleep mode or hibernation. In the lower right hand corner of the lap screen is an icon that looks like a battery with a plug. Click that icon. Then you should be see something that says more power settings. A window comes up. On the left side there are options, let your comper sleep, etc...that should let you change the settings.

If you can get into the PC go to start, then control panel, then power options.
Click on the Advanced tab and see if anything is set for your PC to shut down.
Check the rest of the options to set it the way that you want it set..
If nothing is telling it to shut down here, you may have a virus/adware and may have to use your restore CD..

To reformat, you will could desire to disc or if it got here with a hidden partition (yet I dont think of it did as there became right into a prior OS different than 7?). discover that disc! in the propose time, attempt defragmenting the not uncomplicated rigidity, start up seek bar:(variety defrag and it will arise). additionally acquire Ccleaner to delete undesirable temporary archives (and connect registry in case you're at it). yet another element you are able to attempt is that in case you have separate partitions, you are able to decide for to compress ones that are for storage archives. I wouldnt propose compressing the partition with the OS itself on it. in case you dont have separate partitions you are able to compress folders, so precise click a folder (in archives as an occasion) click residences, click stepped forward click compress contents to save disc area. this could take a whilst nevertheless. try this for super folders. additionally, evaluate upgrading to a miles better HDD sooner or later, those days 500GB not uncomplicated drives are airborne dirt and airborne dirt and dust low-priced. (in the journey that your computing device has an upgradeable HDD it fairly is)
