37th president Richard Nixon 1969-1974 - Only president to have ever resigned (due to Watergate). He is the only president to be elected both president and vice president twice. He established the EPA (environmental protection agency). He was the first president to visit all 50 US states. He died at age 81 in 1994 from a stroke.
38th president Gerald Ford 1974 - 1977 - Lived longer than any other president (he was 93 when he died in 2006). He pardoned Nixon for all impeachable acts. He lowered interest rates from 11.2% to 5.3%. He received the US medal of Presidential Freedom in 1999.
39th president Jimmy Carter 1977 - 1981 - He instituted a boycott of the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow. He mediated peace between Egypt and Israel. He was given the US medal of Presidential Freedom in 1999. He won a Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his decades of service in resolving disputes with peaceful solutions world wide. He began working with Habitat for Humanity in 1984. He is still alive.
