I have thought seriously about this as you asked and I would oppose it. Whether the President was Republican or Democrat I think the mission was accomplished when we deposed Saddam and destroyed the weapons he had. People forget this all started because Saddam threw out the U.N. weapons inspectors. We also forget that Saddam was working on a nuclear program. I think we had cause to invade--too bad we didn't do it in Operation Desert Storm. I just think we're delusional to think we can make the Shiites and the Sunnis get along. They been fighting over who is the legitimate heir to Mohammad for more than 1300 years.

Good Grief! Libs can't even answer a simple question can they? Did you ask "if Clinton had been president the past 6 years would we have fought in Iraq?"
That's a resounding NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
They just can't help but inject their crap can they?
You knew before you asked this question that, yes, of course Libs would have supported the war if Clinton started it. They would have thought it was the wisest and best decision ever. They would have supported it 100% and then some because they loved and trusted Billy with their own lives. They'll never admit it now because everything is different. They thought fighting in Bosnia and Somalia, and bombing "empty" trainging camps, the ones where civilians were bombed instead, in Iraq was very noble.
The ONLY reason they say they are against the Iraq war is because of one thing and one thing only. George W. Bush. They love to hate him and anything he does.
I for one support the president, as I did with Clinton, during times of war. I hated Clinton, but I respected the office then as I do now.

We may have not been at war with Iraq if Clinton was in office but don't be fooled. The US was involved in multiple conflicts during Clinton's term. Bosnia, Kosivo, Somalia, just to name a few. My fathera Marine, was deployed to hostile areas more during Clinton's terms than any other President.

Oh, well, I am not opposed to the war in Iraq so much, so it wouldn't make any difference. I do believe that you have raised a good question. After all, we would not have the movie, "Black Hawk Down" if it wasn't for President Clinton.

If Clinton was in office the last six years, the war would still be in New York. Not Iraq.

Moot question. It wouldn't have happened. Clinton was known for thoroughly evaluating issues before making a decision. I doubt he would have fallen into the "group think" problems that dogged the current administration.

There is no way Bill Clinton would have gotten us into this mess of a war in Iraq. The answer is, if Clinton was still president, we would not be in this war to begin with.
