I'm still here and will be for a long time. What concerns me most is the Yankees are eight games below .500 .Before they can even think about the Red Sox they have to get above that plateau and then assess the situation .
The Yankees are currently 21-29 . 420
If they go 69-43 .616 the rest of the year they will win 90 games and finish 90-72 .555
It can be done.
Ask again after the break.

There is still 110 games left, the Yankees have come back from 14 games much quicker in the past.
Here is the problem with the Yankees. From 1996-2001 they won their championships on the backs of homegrown talent (Jeter, Rivera, Posada, Pettitte, Bernie) and filled the gaps with solid players - not superstars - that fit (Tino, O'Neill, Wells, etc)
After the dramatic loss to Arizona in 2001, the Yanks shifted their philosophy of buying up the best talent in MLB regardless of how they'd fit onto the team (Giambi, Sheffield, ARod, Mussina, Damon, Abreu, etc). These trades and signings among many others have been to varying degrees largely unsuccessful.
The best thing that can happen for the Yankees and what is scary as a Sox fan is that New York falls out of contention and has a losing season. This will force the Yankees to reevaluate - discard some deadwood, and go younger. Cuz the current team isn't getting any younger.

The Yankees have no way of turning the season around. Their main problem is they're too old, they signed crappy players, and the pitching is terrible. Yankees fans will stop going to the ball park once they get to 20 games under thats just the way New York if their team sucks they don't go just look at the Knicks. It's just going to be nice that the Yankees are not going to be in the playoffs.

Never say die sweetheart. There is still 120 plus games left in the season. True Yankees fans never give up hope. A lot can happen between now and October.
Right now both the hitting and pitching need a jump start. I'm sure that once either the pitching or the hitting finds it's way back, both will be okay. Remember, the Yankees haven't been healthy all season and sooner or later the Red Sox will go into one of the infamous slumps. We still have a shot. We will be just fine!!

It really is not a huge problem. Wang was out all through spring training and is just now coming back. Mussina has been on the DL and Clemens is on his Way. With Wang, Pettitte, Mussina, and Clemens in a regular rotation and when the hitting comes around the Yankees will start winning. I look for them to make the playoffs, and I am a Dodger fan. The good news for Yankee fans is that somewhere down the line somebody is going to pay when they get it rolling.

After the Yankees bought swept through the Red Sox, I did not feel they deserved the correct to enter an over-hyped sequence with the Mets and overwhelm them. But, 2 wins is 2 wins, so we will take them. Besides, the sequence wasn't relatively the equal besides, with Beltran, Reyes, and Delgado out of the lineup for the Mets. Regardless, they might were prime scoring video games with the quality lineup in baseball (Yankees) towards an k Mets lineup.

A true fan always believes in their team win or lose.
It's a little frustrating for Yankee fans right now because that team is capable of so much more when it is fully healthy.
We just need to play a little better until we get all our starters back at 100%.
My faith is still in tact.

I am glad to find a tru yanks fan b/c every yank fan that i kno is completely unfaithful. of course being a red sox fan i know that the yankees will not win :) but it is always pathetic to see a bandwagoner, for any team. did we stop believing for 86 years?!?! (don't answer that... you get my point) every team will lose for a while, this is definitely the yankees year to lose. but being the yankees they will try to come back (note the try) and so if yanks fans are quitting on their team now, that's just sad.
and here are the yankees problems: pitching (starting and relieving) and injuries.
