I'm sorry that people say this to you,i hope this isn't true about you, but it means that if someone is miserable, they like to bring others down with them, or make others miserable so that they can feel better about themselves. if you don't like being told this, then next time you are miserable, keep it to yourself, if that is what they are talking about.

It means that when one is feeling terribly miserable he/she enjoys the company of another miserable human being. In another sense, it also means that miserable people attract other miserable people and/or find themselves in close contact with additional misery...
If every one is saying this to you; you may be complaning a lot and never act fulfilled or happy. So see if you fit into that description there is always hope though that is if you want to change and not be miserable...
Good luck!

Well hon, ever tried to get people to be in the same mood as you when you're down. Because people that are miserable [i have every right to say this cause I've been on both sides of the spectrum] like to have others to wallow in thier misery with them. To be miserable alone is unbearable, to take others and make them miserable makes being miserable more bearable. Get the drift?

It means depressives like to hang out together, i.e emos hang out with emos......it also has another meaning along the lines of everyone loves to tell people their troubles and woes, its one way we use to offload the things that are bugging us. Frinstance dont ya hate when you say to someone "Hows it goin?" and they spend the next 5 minutes telling about their sore toe, their sad moods, their life is a mess and theyre gonna waste themselves on sunday?? etc etc.
