I never understood why anybody would be offended by public nudity. I understand modesty and not feeling comfortable with ones own public nudity, but nudity itself doesn't hurt anyone. Now, barbecuing naked could hurt, but you can wear an apron when you're near the fire. I say go naked.

No most of us don't think that it is funny nor are we even closet offenders. I will admit, I have done this, but it was as a last resort only! I do not have problems with the Witnesses on a personal level. I may not agree with the views, but that wasn't the issue under the circumstances. The fact was it was three exact women who insisted upon knocking on my door at least twice a day, everyday (even when I had guests or was taking care of business matters since my husband was bedridden due to a recent heart surgery) for precisely three months. I was nice, I tried explaining the situation to them and asked them many times that although I did not mind an occasional vist now and than, it was getting out of hand. The would wake up the new baby banging if I didn't answer, or my husband once he finally fell asleep. The docters would not prescribe anything for him after the triple bypass for the pain and told him to simply take 800mg of motriene every 12 hours. I was not sleeping much myself and was recuperating from an emergency surgery myself, when I finally did answer the door under the circumstances that you are referrring to. They did call the cops. The cops turned around nailed them for soliciting, harrassment and another charge. This was a one time occurance only and it was only these three individuals. Would I do it again? Probably not unless I am justified in taking that drastic of a step ever again. I tried not answering the door several times, but they would stand there and knock and knock. The longest amount of time that I measured was 33 minutes. Unfortuanately it is individuals such as those that give all Witnesses bad names. Edit: I realize that this is not the answer that you are looking for and I am sorry for the bad rap on your faith. Both of my grandparents are Witnesses and are very, very nice people, and I do enjoy dicussing the different viewpoints.

Well, the representative is wrong.
If a minor child is exposed to your naked body, intentionally or not, it is a sexual offense.
If you are walking around your home nude and someone looks in your window, it is not.
If you are sun-bathing on a nude beach and a tourist walks by and sees you nude, it is not a sexual offense.
It all depends upon the circumstances.
If you are in a place where your nudity is a private matter or a place where it is permitted, then anyone who sees you is committing the offense - not you.
We live in a society where so many people are all twisted up about sex and nakedness and get it all tied up with decency and the Bible and a whole lot of stuff. Just ignore them.
Be free - in private.

Your "police representative" is wrong, in the UK anyway. It would be indecent exposure if a member of the public, so to speak, can see you. It's not a sexual offence. You can do what you like in your own home, just don't do it in front of the windows! Or in your garden unless you have very high fences.

They are ignoring the simple fact that for a sexual offence, you need to have an intention to commit the offence. Your police representative is not very good with law.

That police representative is wrong.
To be a sexual offense, the nakedness must be for purposes of sexual gratification. You have to be naked AND be spanking the monkey AND be in a public place.
Sunbathing nude, or peeing on a tree, may be against the law, but they are not as serious as sexual offenses.

That isn't true, and your police don't know what they are talking about.
If someone flashes you that is a different story.
I guess they are going to start charging all the jocks or females that use common facilities!
Being nude in public is against the law, unless you are in an area exclusively made for them!

Yes, it's called indecent exposure and you will get arrested. Unfortunately, we have become an overly sensitive society where just about anything offends someone or another.

If you see Rosie's naked body on the street, wouldn't that be extremely sexually offense to you?

Everything was alright until religion got thrown into the mix.
People could be people and not prance around under false pretenses and feel shame about what is natural.
