you are exactly right.
it was said on Y!politics before, if a muslim or jewish or wiccian prayer was being said in school all of the cons would run to the ACLU (who they hate so much)

I don't know why cons believe that, and maybe only some of them actually do. I think it is mostly fundamentalist Christians who have the idea that everyone should believe just as they do, and therefore, to their way of thinking, there is nothing wrong with wanting only Christian prayers in schools. I personally find that objectionable, because I believe that God never intended for all of us to follow the same spiritual path. Spirituality and/or Religion is not a one size fits all proposition, and all faiths are entitled to be represented. Our founding fathers knew exactly what they were doing when they advocated separation of church and state.

They ignore factual data and make assumptions.
It is a mistake to believe that liberals are generally atheists or non-Christians, or that all Christians must be conservative. Some 93 percent of the U.S. population believe in God; 82 percent are Christian. Obviously, there must be a great many liberals who are Christian, since 47 of all Americans identify themselves as Democrats.
A November 1994 Gallup poll found that only 22 percent of all Americans describe themselves as members of the "religious right" movement -- whereas 70 percent reject the label. However, it is indeed true that the more religious people are, the more likely they are to be conservative. Only 35 percent of all Americans are "religious," using a definition that requires them to consider religion "important" and to attend religious services once a week. Of this group, 59 percent were Republicans, and 36 percent were Democrats.

As an Atheist who certainly isn't liberal, I take offense at the suggestion that all liberals are Atheists, which carries the implication that Atheists are primarily leftist. We're not, we're just not convinced that there's a plausible argument for the existance of God.
It's true that American conservatives and liberals both tend to value the cherished freedom of religion, even if some conservatives want to narrow it 'freedom to choose your sect of christianity' and some liberals want to use it as an excuse to exclude religion from public life.

when do we think that? the question is since when does the constitution call for a separation of church and state? i have read it several times and never have i seen that. if government decides what religion is right and the official one for us as a country to follow then the government is wrong. which is what happened in a lot of European, and Latin American countries. and still happens in most Muslim countries.

Put the way you did I actually agree to a point, but most don't word it this way. I don't think all cons believe this cause I am a con and I don't. Our school still incorporates some christianity and we don't have any problems and the kids like it.

Barry hates this usa. study his e-e book. George Sorros is in the back of very nearly the coolest deal Barry does. crucial substitute attitude Redistribution of wealth. look on the oil spill. whilst gas and diesel are $6 a gallon it is going to close down our economy. Barry and George are giving 2 billion dollars to Brazil (our money) to finance THEIR deep-sea oil drilling and then Barry places a moratorium on our drilling. save an eye fixed on the fee of produce. Produce is a time-scensitive commodity. It have have been given to be trucked in. the fee of gas will push all expenses of goods and centers of the middle type to a component the place we are in a position to now no longer be center we are able to be waiting to be undesirable. easily undesirable. those human beings in the middle sort are 70% of the financial climate and as we flow so is going the country.

Why do liberals make up problems against conservatives that don't even exist? There is a seperation of church and state. I don't believe that has been changed.

Just look at the answers to your earlier question to get the answer for this one. We believe libs are atheists because of the negative answers you got, not because they don't want government deciding which religion is right.

I hear ya, buddy.
Nowhere in our nation's main documents does it designate Protestantism as the "state religion," but you'd get the impression from all the diehard cons that "Christianity rules."
I keep reminding people that our country is supposed to embrace ALL religions - equally.
