This is really odd
I have a Fietsa Si which was purchased for me by a trader as a favour
I have 2 keys,
The master which is red which opens all doors and the boots but won't let me turn the engine over
Then I have another key which opens the doors and starts the car but which won't open the boot
I need a spare set of keys, both have chips in
How do I get new keys ????

Go to a main dealer with ur log book and u should be able to order new keys . Try new batteries first though or ask the main dealer to reprogram them both

The Red key is the master. With that you can programme additional keys. It would appear that whilst the key is cut to the correct combination it has lost the code.

Dependant on the wear on keys and locks the keys may not work in every lock.

The Red key needs to be reprogrammed and this can only be done by a Ford dealer or someone with the correct equipment.

Take all the keys with you as they will programme them at the same time. They will also be able to supply additional keys at the same time.

The red key will start the car but should really be kept somewhere safe in case you need to programme keys or for use in an emergency.

TIP - Make a note of the key number (the dealer will be able to tell you what it is) then in the event of locking yourself out you can get a key cut to gain access.

There are two ways to do this, first go to the dealer and with the log book get another two keys as spares.
Probably the best way to do it is to get a complete new set of locks for the car with a single key. I was surprised when I purchased a set of locks for a sierra from ford and it only cost £40 for the locks and keys.

The Master key (the red one) is not for normal use.
It is to allow the immobiliser to be reprogrammed to accept a new key. It should be kept in a safe place.

The other key is a normal key - but you need to find out why it does not open the boot.

Your best bet is to get another key from a Ford dealer, then take the car, the new key, the old key and the red master key to the dealership, and get the immobiliser programmed to recognise the new key (and the old key).

if the automobile is older than 1996 it could have a equipped in immobiliser so no risk of warm wiring it. our mate could desire to ring his insurance agency to work out if hes coated for misplaced keys as i comprehend i'm. Then they gets an vehicle-locksmith out which will decrease a key to in effective condition the locks and code the main to eu. It generaly expenditures approximately £350 in any different case.

sounds to me like the keys and locks have been changed at some time and there all mismatched, the red master key should start the car if it was for that car origanally.. you will have to have a new set made and reprogramed at aford dealers...

main dealer I'm afraid i think you could have just the key cut at a market but it wont have the chip in so if you use the to unlock by just pressing them may be it would be wise to have just a lain key and put the master keys up in case you lose them

It will cost you a fortune! It may be better to sell the car and get one with a decent set of keys. Live and learn - you will test the keys work in future car buying - and so will I after reading this, thanks!
