Marriage in the literal sense is just a financial transaction. There is no true reason for the institution of marriage except to keep track of people finances and to carry children through a paternal line. Why do you think so many cultures have arranged marriage?


To answer your question people marry for money b/c they like the lifestyle or they find it beneficial. The person on the other end is probably with a mate they could not get if they were not wealthy. So in a sense both people win.

I on the other hand, think it's all very silly. Being happy is a lot better than being with someone who doesn't love me, but we all know that everyone does not get that choice.

Marrying for money is wrong. I believe that is just another form of abuse. If you never really loved the guy in the first place, but you loved his money, why in the world would you ever walk down the aisle. I think people that marry for money are just after one thing, taking care of me. They don't have any intention or even know the meaning of being a true spouse. It should not matter if money is involved or not, if you truly love this person and enjoy being with them, that should be what the marriage is based on, not how much money is brought in.

I don't think you should marry for money. Marriage is very hard and it would be much better if you were friends and loved each other to make a marriage work. I think if you married for money it wouldn't last as long if you married for friendship and love. People marry for money because they think money will be them happiness, but that is not true, just look at the super stars to know that is not true. You have to find happiness with in yourself.

Like any partnership that is long term, both sides have to take into consideration what the other brings to the table. As in wealth (Donald Trump) versus beauty and an excellent gene pool (Malena Trump, his current wife).
You can marry for different reasons, but when you are marrying for love, and your life is hard and there is no money to feed your kids, the sad truth is , that love will fade, but being poor and destitute remain the deciding factor in braking up. You cannot pay the bills or buy food by walking into the grocery store, say to the cashier: "I don't have a penny, but I love my hubby! Please fill up my shopping cart with food!"
To be honest, who ever said to you that money does not count and girls who marry for cash are gold diggers are either:
A; never been hungry in their lives
B; can't get a rich spouse themselves
C;delusional.
One thing is for damn certain;
Make sure you can support yourself, by yourself, the best way is never ever to depend on anyone for your survival and/or daily needs, especially once you become and adult, that way, you can respect yourself and appreciate what you've achieved in your life.
