First things first, I do not believe there is any such size in coffee cans. It would come in a bag.

Well, conveniently, I've got a 10-ounce can of Cafe Bustelo coffee right here, and a ruler.

It's 5.5 inches tall and 4 inches in diameter. That gives it a volume of 69 cubic inches, for ten ounces.

Five pounds is 80 ounces, or eight of these cans, so 552 cubic inches total. (That's 9,060,740 cubic millimeters.) The volume of a penny is 360 cubic millimeters, according to a website I found.

Divide the two, and you can see that you could fit, at most, 25,168.8 pennies in eight of my coffee cans. But you can't, because there's no way you'd fill all the volume of a round container with smaller round objects. So I'd take, oh, 2/3 of this number to account for wasted space.

So I'm going to say 16,780 pennies in a five pound coffee can. Final answer.

5lbs of pennies depends if they are tarnish free or not. How ar they stached or just thrown in there, there are a few other variables. but it would be way less than 1000. pennies wich weighs 6.25 lbs But 1 penny weighs 1/10 of an ounce

None! I'm pretty sure that coffee would be in a 5 lb coffee can!

well get the weight of a pennie. then divide [the weight of the coffee jar minus the cofee jar;s weight alone] by the [weight of one pennie] to get the number of pennies.

cmon man.. simple math.
