Try a tumbling class at any gymnastics facility or at a YMCA. Sometimes they're called "Cheer" classes, but if it's at a gymnastics facility chances are there's no cheering involved, it's just tumbling which includes gymnastics floor work and you will have to work your way up to a back handspring.
In the meantime, start working on strengthening your arms. Do lots of push ups! Also practice doing back bends from a standing position. If you have a hard time with that, walk your way down using a wall. Stand with your back to a wall about 2.5 feet away) put your hand up over your head, lean back and put your hands on the wall and walk your hands down until your doing a back bend. You can use your hands to walk yourself back up to a standing position or see if you can scoot away from the wall and stand up on your own. Once you're comfortable with that see if you can kick your legs over and do a walkover. Be prepared to fall. A lot.
Good luck!

Agreed, and a lot of gymnastics facilities teach cheer now. Are you asking about a backhandspring or a standing back? If you havent tried any acro yet, you'll really need to work up to this, but I'm sure you'll get there! And please dont let anyone at home spot you, thats incredibly dangerous.

Yeah finding out backflips is thoroughly approximately eliminating worry. It does not take a lot ability in any respect. Here are a couple of matters I did to eliminate my worry: one million. Do backwards rolls: no longer that valuable in view that it isn't frightening in any respect. Just squat down and roll backwards (no longer like opposite-parkour roll, simply cross directly over your head). Use your fingers to take weight off your neck. Doing those off of an extended floor (like a mattress) makes them a lot more amazing. two. Backflip off a swing: This is by and large what helped my worry probably the most. This transfer itself is sort of frightening to check out, however so long as you keep on till the final moment there is no means you'll be able to land to your head. You can do that with out tucking to start with, then begin including a tuck in view that it is helping you get well at recognizing your touchdown in truly backflips. three. Learn entrance flips: this will likely support when you have any worry of going over your head most of the time. However, this transfer is MUCH tougher then the backflip bodily, its simply much less frightening cuz you'll be able to see in which you are going whilst you bounce. I'm no longer going to give an explanation for entrance flips right here tho. four. After this one you'll don't have any extra worry: use a train mat if u have one to be had (it is extra like flat flooring than a trampoline is) and get a spotter (or 2). The spotters will aid your again to preserve you up longer and will push your legs as much as support you tuck. I began doing backflips with 2 spotters. One of them used to be well and one in every of them sucked, so quickly we moved directly to one million spotter. Once you'll be able to land to your ft with one spotter, have them begin doing much less and not more. What I instructed my buddy to do used to be spot me five occasions or so after which shock me via no longer telling me and simply no longer recognizing me. But correct while I did the primary one he did not spot me and I landed it satisfactory. Then I had NO worry of it and it feels top notch. You simply ought to think me: As lengthy as you bounce kinda prime and also you tuck tight, the worst so that you can occur is that you just land to your fingers and knees. Never underestimate the vigour of tucking tough. It is helping your rotation sooo a lot. Sorry for the lengthy publish however I wish that is helping
