I see this frequently in public appearances and pictures. One such instance on Yahoo news today triggered the question. His responsibilities are far and wide where humor is an important tool. But EVERY single day more people are dying at war. I just want him to be a serious president during this time.

Are you kidding? Do you really think he should be serious 24/7? He's a human being. Human beings smile, smirk, joke, and attempt to be humorous, especially in serious times. Why would you expect him to change who he is? Just be glad that you can still freely smile, smirk, joke, and attempt to be humorous. It might not be that way if our troops weren't over there fighting our enemies. You might be fighting them here. Seriously!

He is trying to cover up that he is incompetent by being folksy, just one of you guys out there, heh, heh, heh. I lost any and all respect for the man when he said, "If you are not with us, then you are with the terrorists." He equated political dissent with disloyalty in that statement, and negated the neutral stand taken by the Swiss during WWII. He has been backpedaling ever since with his :"just folks" appearances, the jokes, the smiles, all those things which try to get across he is just one of us regular guys out there, heh, heh, heh...
