Im 6 1/2 weeks pregnant according to my doctor and over the past week or so (according to my fiancee) I have lost my curves and put of bit of flab on my butt (he still loves me though :-)). Now I've noticed that I've become curver and my pot bellyish in the front of my body.

After seeing my mother this morning she has said that "You are more than 6 weeks and you are putting on weight exactly like I am and your having a girl"

Do ya'll think it possible that my first pregnancy could be like hers? The whole like mother like daughter things going on? It is genectically possible that my first pregnancy will be identical to her first preganancy with me?

My pregnancy is nothing like my moms at all (and she had 6 of us!!). I had morning sickness, she didn't have any. She didn't gain much weight, I have gained 20 pounds at 29 weeks. She never had issues with high blood pressure, I did at 19 weeks and am being watched closely.

I think every person is different and you can't really compare them to others.

Also the "further along" comment...You are probably just bloated...I bloated pretty bad the first few weeks. Good luck!!

It can't be that comfortable anyway... I myself would be too nervous about causing damage to the fetus. Some say that wearing very tight clothing on the abdomen could cause a miscarriage (can't say if this is true). Also when I'm doing water aerobics (I'm 21 weeks) they advised me not to do any motions that involved crunching the abs or sucking in the abs. Put these together and there's your answer. If your clothes are too tight right now you can use pants with an elastic waist or else maternity shops sell pants especially for the first trimester called 'before and after pants', don't look at all like maternity clothes at all. Why would you risk it?

Your first pregnancy won't be identical to your Mom's, but it could be similar. Pregnancy is full of surprizes, ya never know, could be a girl or boy, you could carry high or low, you could get a big butt & big boobs or just be all belly, you could gain little, average, or a lot. Every body & every person's life style is different, it all depends on that.

Every one is different and if you are putting on weight rather quickly are you watching what you are eating?? Remember that what you eat need to be nutritious for you and your baby. Eat lots of fruit & veg and in moderation otherwise you & your baby may have health risks.

The other thing is if you have put weight on so quickly at the start - Is there twins in your family?? That could be your answer to.

Congratulations & Good luck

It's just chance. I've always been told you have the same pregnancy as your mother did, but mine has been nothing at all like my mothers. It's possible, but it's also possible to have a pregnancy just like someone who you aren't related to. It's all just chance & any pregnancy you have can be different.

You are probably bloated and that's why you look like you are further along than you are. And each pregnancy is different. If you are built like your mom you may carry like your mom because you have the same frame.

As for the girl....I carried like a basketball under my shirt with my son and an innertube with my daughter.

Have fun and congrats!

Every pregnancy is different. Your pregnancies will not be identical... possibly similar.
